Salon Tropical

Your culinary journey in Cartagena couldn’t be complete if you don’t stop by Salón tropical’s patio. This restaurant is the epitome of boho chic Colombian culture: they first opened in the well-known foodie’s neighborhood of Chapinero, in Bogota, before inaugurating their new place in the trendy Getsemani.

Their Colombo – Lithuanian chef, Andrius Didzilius, trained in Europe, made a name in the countries’ food scene, thanks to his bistro concept: his restaurants, usually built around a garden/ grill space, offer an interesting blend of flavors, exploring Colombian ingredients to create new dishes inspired by Mexican, Asian or European cuisine. Their menu offers a large choice of sea food (the chef’s favorite): ceviches, with their vegan version, risottos, salads and tapas, as well as a solid list of grilled meat and fresh fish meticulously chosen and prepared.

Salon Tropical is like a little oasis in the middle of Getsemani’s nights madness. Here, you will sit in a patio, surrounded by plants, and enjoy the Cuban and tropical rhythms of a live band, while sailing through a sea of new combinations of textures and spices. No rush: you’re in the Caribbean!
