Doña Lola
Dress to impress and make sure to book ahead for this beautifully formal, yet welcoming dining room. Doña Lola marries colonial pomp with tropical chic, and is set in one of the best boutique hotels to appear in Getsemaní. The attention to detail that you’ll find in the ambience extends to the fantastic food, designed by local chef Gerson Guardo. You’ll discover a delicious range of Caribbean favourites, as well as Spanish and Colombian tapas.
Arrive early for a sunset cocktail on the rooftop in Lolita’s bar – we love the Casa Lola and La Trinidad – before you head down for dinner in Doña Lola. There’s the option to reserve a private dining room in this beautiful house, or watch the world go by with a table by the huge windows in the main restaurant.
Start with some tapas – the blue cheese and octopus caramañolas and the prawn empañadas have a special Caribbean feel and top it off with some traditional Spanish Iberico ham (of course). Keep the Cartagenero flavours flowing with a sancocho soup or the fish in coconut sauce and some of the best plantain you’ll find in the city.
